I saw The Doors in 1968 when I was 13 (a few months before the first time I saw Joni Mitchell). Love your analysis about the way Morrison is still here after more than 51 years. Thankfully, Joni is actually still here as an antidote. Nice work, David. I am really enjoying your musings.

I never saw them live but was a fan from 67 on. How do I feel now. I am thinking. I did follow Ray to the early x records he produced and played on. I have seen X live.

Jerry Sheff played bass from Waiting for the Sun onward but was not a Door, and the first two have Ray's left hand.

Doug Lubahn played bass on the second third and fourth albums is credited as occasional bass and refused to join the band. Jerry Sheff was at the same time a member of Elvis’s band
